Sewing machine needles come in a variety of sizes and types. To select the correct needle for your project, you will need to consider the fabric you will be stitching on and the thread you will be using.
Using the proper needle will reduce thread breakage and skipped stitches and produce a smooth, consistent stitches. Use the incorrect needle and you can damage your bobbin hook, throw off machine timing, get puckered seams, break or shred thread, punch holes in your fabric or produce an inferior stitch.
