Very nice utility scissors and are exactly what I wanted. They are lightweight with an open spring action that is easy on your hands. The curved tip is appropriate for exact thread snipping without concern for cutting the fabric. I would recommend this product.
Carol Doak first recommended these for paper piecing. The curved tip allows you to get in close without cutting into the paper.
Love these scissors
I use these scissors so much to snip threads that I now have at least three of them. I keep one near my sewing station, one in my portable sewing kit, and one near my main living room couch where I spend the most time finishing up any projects requiring hand sewing. Yes, the small, traditional embroidery scissors that require you to insert your fingers into two handle loops come in many beautiful shapes and colors, but it is this scissor I reach for the most. No fumbling to get my fingers in and out of small loops, and less chance of cutting into my fabric with the curved shape of the blades. When my seam ripper isn’t handy and my stitch length is 2.5mm or longer, I oftentimes use this scissor to rip the seams without damaging the fabric. I always buy one of these for friends who are looking to pick up sewing or embroidery as a hobby.
I have been searching everywhere for these! Carol Doak recommends them for snipping threads when paper piecing. Finally!! Someone asked her in the questions section, where did she get her scissors/snips? She wrote ToolTron. First she had scissors but by the end of the class sessions, she had the snips. Of course, I purchased both and really like the easy cut scissors, as you don't have to find the finger holes, just pick up and snip! Buy them. They are great!
It is my favorite tool in my sewing room. It is perfect for cutting threads especially if you need to get really close to the fabric. The spring action is easy on my arthritic hands.
These are wonderful little snippers for quilters or people who do fine needlework. I'll be using these forever. Thanks
Without a doubt, if you like to machine applique these scissors are a must-have! You are able to get very close to the stitching edge without having to worry about snipping background material.
